As I move this work out of the studio and onto a stage, I am able to pair the material record of my own gestures with present movement of dancers who use their body as their sole instrument. The stark white forms create an atmosphere that embodies still motion of idle figures against the shifting action of dancers. As my work accompanies KAIROS Dance Theater, it holds space for the strength and fragility of the primordial human body.” -Corinne Chase
